PatchVault › Errors › @vercel/kv & @vercel/postgres → Upstash + Neon

@vercel/postgres is deprecated. If you are setting up a new database, you can choose an alternate storage solution from the Vercel Marketplace.

npm shows this deprecation notice (on @vercel/postgres 0.10.0) at install. Existing Vercel Postgres databases were migrated to Neon as a native Vercel integration.

Why it happens

The package will not get further updates. The registry message links Neon's transition guide for moving to Neon's SDKs (@neondatabase/serverless).

Manual fix

npm uninstall @vercel/postgres && npm install @neondatabase/serverless

import { neon } from '@neondatabase/serverless'
const sql = neon(process.env.DATABASE_URL!)
// before: const { rows } = await sql`...`
// after:  const rows = await sql`...`

Verify

Re-run your install/build and re-scan the file above. The finding should be gone. The paid fixer applies the same change across a repo: --dry-run shows the diff, --apply keeps a .bak of each file, and --rollback restores them.
