The REST Admin API is a legacy API as of October 1, 2024. Starting April 1, 2025, all new public apps must be built exclusively with the GraphQL Admin API.

Your app still calls /admin/api/<version>/*.json REST endpoints. Shopify marked the REST Admin API legacy and requires new public App Store submissions to use GraphQL only.

Why it happens

Shopify's October 1, 2024 changelog made GraphQL the primary Admin API. Separately, all public apps had to move to the new GraphQL Product APIs by February 1, 2025.

Manual fix

// before (REST)
await fetch(`https://${shop}/admin/api/2024-01/products.json`, { headers })
// after (GraphQL)
await admin.graphql(`#graphql
  query { products(first: 10) { nodes { id title } } }`)

Verify

Re-run your install/build and re-scan the file above. The finding should be gone. The paid fixer applies the same change across a repo: --dry-run shows the diff, --apply keeps a .bak of each file, and --rollback restores them.
